Jeans and a T-shirt

The most comfortable thing to wear is an old pair of jeans and a super comfortable t-shirt. That is what I wore today. When I am at home and have nowhere to go or even if I am only going to the grocery store, I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt. Don’t get me wrong, I like to dress up cute and wear something more flattering when I go out to dinner with my husband or even if I get together with some friends but when nobody is going to see me anyway, I would choose comfort over style any day!

The Office

When I first saw an episode of “The Office” I thought it was so stupid and could not understand how people could watch it and find it funny. Some time passed and I’m not even sure how I started watching it again but now I think it is hilarious! I think to appreciate the show you have to understand the background of each character. Most people have had people in their life like these characters. You also have to appreciate dry humor. Now I think it is the perfect show to watch when I want to just unwind from a long day and relax.

As Routine As It Gets

As a stay at home mother, some days seem so routine that I am bored nearly to tears. Other days it seems that there is nothing normal about life. A “normal” day consists of bathing and dressing my one-year-old, washing dishes, doing laundry, preparing meals, and cleaning up the house. The whole time I am involved in those tasks I am also trying to keep my toddler from emptying all the cupboards and drawers in the house and she is trying to drag me by the hand to whatever she wants to tear apart next. When my husband gets home I have to balance taking care of the baby’s needs as well as making sure my husband is fed and helping him with homework because he is also still in school!

Cruising Paradise

Cruise ship

The most relaxing experience I have ever had was when my husband and I took a cruise. The destinations actually weren’t as impressive as I expected but just being on the cruise ship and waited on was an experience I would gladly repeat! I loved the fine dining and being able to select just about any food I wanted at any time of day. There was always something to do and if I didn’t want to do anything at all, I could just relax in my room or by the pool. It was the most enjoyable trip I have ever taken.

Book Worm

Books are my passion. I love to read a good page turner. I have spent many sleepless nights reading a book that I just couldn’t put down. Historical fiction is my favorite but I also have a special love for children’s books. I have a collection of children’s books with a wide range of reading levels. I used them in my classroom when I was a teacher and I am so excited to share them with my own children! Being a busy mother, I have not read much since my daughter was born but once she gets to a more independent age I hope to hit the books once again!

Pigs in Blankets

If you’ve never had a “pig in a blanket” you are missing out! This simple meal consists of a hot dog wrapped in a biscuit or crescent roll. It is super easy and really cheap to make. Serve it with Macaroni and Cheese or tater tots and you have a meal! Last night I was so tired that I was glad I had planned to make Pigs in Blankets for dinner. My husband actually loves them and after we were married I made some for him and he started requesting them! Now I can also make this for my daughter like my mom made for me when I was a child.

Puppies at My Home

Recently one of the street dogs gave birth to three cute puppies at my home lawn. One was white with black spots, the other two where brown with white shades. The one in dark brown was so active and it started roaming through out the garden in very few days, where as the other two were still sitting behind its mother, we use to feed their mother daily twice. I named the three as ed, edd and eddy. After few days, I started playing with the puppies. It relaxed my mind much, daily after college I use to play with those puppies for at least an hour. After the puppies started growing, its mother left them abandoned, and I was taking care of them. Once in a competition named Halloween costumes for large dogs, I took my favorite dark brown puppy dressed in a funny Halloween costume. I was enjoying there, though it didn’t win any prizes I was happy seeing it enjoying. I also ask everyone to adopt such abandoned animals and show care on them. Such kind nature of us only can prove that we are humans. Halloween costume, a trick or a treat for my dog? I was surprised when my friend, Sheri, called to tell me that she’d bought a Halloween costume for her Corgi, Buffy. I knew there were Halloween costumes for dogs, but my little guy, Baxter, is way too boisterous for me to put anything on him other than a collar. He’s a typical Beagle, I suppose. Buffy is pretty playful, too, so I wasn’t sure how well she’d tolerate a costume. Well, Sheri emailed me a picture and Buffy looks so cute! She’s dressed up as a ladybug, wearing what looks like a red sweater with big black dots. She even has on a pair of antennas. Sheri said she tolerated it pretty well. I guess they make these costumes comfortable for dogs. I’d love to dress up Bax as a vampire; Or as Darth Vader. That would be hilarious! I’m thinking I’ll go online and look at some costume web sites.

Seasons of Comfort

Spring and autumn are my favorite seasons. I do not enjoy the cold weather but I can’t stand the hot summers in Arizona. When the seasons begin to change and it is warm enough in the morning to be comfortable but not too hot during the afternoon, that is my favorite time of year! I love to be able to spend time outside at whatever time of day I choose. In other parts of the country, spring and fall are excellent times to observe nature. I love to see the flowers start coming up and the blossoms on the trees. I am in awe when I see the brightly colored leaves in the fall.

Emergency Diaper Run

Today I had to go buy diapers as early as possible. We were down to four diapers! My daughter has been going through a lot of diapers every day and normally I have plenty but I started to run out this week because I have been sharing a car with my husband and while he is gone at work that leaves us with no car. As soon as we had eaten breakfast and were dressed I took her to the store to replenish our supply. After taking care of that crisis I was able to get her down for a nap and wash some laundry and dishes.
