“It’s The End Of The World As We Know It”
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on March 18, 2011
If the world was ending in an hour, I think I would first throw on the song that bears the same title as this essay, by REM. Great Big Sea has a decent version of their song as well, but I like the REM version better. I would crack open a bottle of my most expensive wine and drink to my heart’s content. Naturally, I would call my family if I wasn’t with them at the time and commiserate with them. I would also have all my friends over. The time would be 11:00p.m. We shall eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.

Hi, I’m Trying To Reach Nature, Is She Available?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on March 15, 2011
When I feel a need to reach out to nature, I strap on a pair of snowshoes and head out to the Rocky Mountains. There is no terrain I have seen that can hold a candle to the beauty of the Rockies. When I get close to my destination on one mountain or another, I like to stop and listen for … nothing at all. When you are far away from the city and high in a mountain, there is an unbelievable silence that carries with it a near divine tranquility. Sometimes the silence is pierced by the cry of a raven or a gray jay, or a tree falling off in the distance, but these sounds add to the experience, not take away from it. Then there is wildlife. Animals tend to be reasonably tame around people and will not attack. Just last week I saw a coyote, and my friends saw and photographed a timber wolf! It is hard to be closer to nature than where it runs free, and humans seldom travel.
Essential Beds for Dogs
Posted by admin in Main Articles on March 11, 2011
When a person keeps a dog as a pet in the house, he/she must ensure that the dog is provided with all the basic necessities as well as a lot of comforts. The dog should be fed excellent food so that there is no lack of proper nutrition. While sleeping, dogs require extremely soft foam so that all the joints and muscles of their body get complete relaxation. Hence, tough memory foam dog beds are ideal for dogs so that no kind of pain is generated in the joints of the dog. These forms are available in various shapes and sizes. Hence, the choice should be made taking into consideration the size of the dog as well as its limbs. Moreover, these memory foam beds also ensure proper blood circulation in case of the dog.
I Feel So… Powerful!

So my fellow citizens have vested me with the power of mayor. The first thing I would change is the fact that green roofs or solar panels are optional for businesses to install. Imagine how nice it would be to look up at the sky downtown and see skies lined with trees and flowers instead of tainted by fog. Certain places are so thick with canopy that you can barely see patches of blue through the fluttering leaves. The air is fresh because all these trees are sucking out pollutants and greenhouse gasses from it. Every denizen of my city would feel close to nature. There would be some places where you could look at the pure, blue sky. Not all buildings would have to plant trees. Roofs with grass would be allowable too, but to incentivize businesses and industries to plant trees and flowers, an impartial jury would select the top ten green roofs in the city. The businesses that have these installed would receive a $100k boon in capital. Of course, my constituency would grant subsidized loans to any business lacking working capital to install a green roof.
