It’s important that dog collars and leashes fit right on the neck. Too tight and it can be painful and choke the dog, too loose and the collar can slip off the neck. If this happens, the dog could be running around with no identification and get picked up by the dog warden, and there could be dire consequences. A good rule of thumb is to be able to slide two fingers beneath the collar comfortably. This means it’s a good fit.
